Drake’s is hosting its second celebrity charity dart party tonight to celebrate the opening of the newest Drake’s at the Summit. Eleven local celebs including Coach Denny Crum, Darrell Griffith and Coach Scotty Davenport will compete for the chance to win $100,000 for their charity of choice. Of course, everyone who hits the dart board will win at least $1,000 for charity.

Drake’s Managing Partner Mark Thornburg gave some great dart tips this morning on WHAS to help Kelsey Starks and Rachel Platt get ready to compete!

Danielle Waller has joined Guthrie/Mayes Public Relations as a part-time assistant account manager. Danielle brings more than 10 years of public relations and journalism experience to the firm.

A Louisville native, Danielle previously worked for the Louisville Science Center as communications manager – a position she held for eight years in two stints (2002-2005 and 2006-2011). At the Science Center, she served as spokesperson and developed and executed successful PR campaigns resulting in regional publicity. During the run of “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” at the Science Center, she increased publicity by more than 50 percent from the year prior. She also started and helped grow the Science Center’s social media accounts, integrating successful strategies into PR and marketing campaigns.

During 2005-2006, she served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Spalding University – where she developed marketing materials, led PR efforts and spearheaded a market research study.

Before joining the Science Center, Danielle was a writer for The Voice-Tribune newspaper and covered a variety of stories, including news, features, business openings and a Vice Presidential Debate. She also was a news clerk at WAVE-TV, the Louisville NBC affiliate.

Danielle is a graduate of Bellarmine University, where she is currently pursuing a master of arts in communication. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
