Ashley Schaffner, Account Manager
Ashley Schaffner became a full-time member of the Guthrie/Mayes professional staff in August 2007. She began as an intern for Guthrie/Mayes in May 2006, rejoined the firm as an assistant account manager, was promoted to Associate Account manager in September 2008, and was named an account manager in July 2011.
Her experience at Guthrie/Mayes includes assisting with special event planning, media relations, writing, and research.
Ashley brought to the firm a strong background in journalism and event planning. She previously worked for Lindsey Wilson College’s Writing Center as a consultant. In addition, she worked for the college’s Public Relations department. She wrote feature articles for Lindsey Wilson’s campus publication, The View, and also maintained a column on the college’s website. Further, Ashley served as special event coordinator for the Lindsey Wilson College Student Government Association.
Ashley earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication with an emphasis in journalism from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia. There, she was honored with the Presidential Scholarship and the Communications award – which is presented by the college's Communication Department to a student who best demonstrates leadership and promise in the field. Ashley was one of the charter members of, and was inducted into, the LWC chapter of The Society for Collegiate Journalists, the national honorary society of collegiate mass communication. In addition, Ashley served as president of Lindsey Wilson’s chapter of Alpha Chi Theta, a national honor society. She served on the Student Government Association for four years, three of which was as class president. She was also a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the college’s Communication honor society.
