Guthrie/Mayes is proud to be the public relations agency-of-record for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) continuously since 1987. We have supported all aspects of Toyota’s manufacturing in North America, starting with the opening of its first wholly owned plant in the U.S. in Georgetown, Ky., to the $1.33 billion Toyota Reborn investment announcement at the same plant in 2017, and beyond. In addition, we have worked closely with Toyota Motor Sales, Toyota Technical Center and Toyota Financial Services.
A major part of any PR strategy for Toyota is “storytelling.” We dig deep to come up with the best stories that paint a picture of what the company is all about, both in the plant and out in the community. We want the Toyota story to be heard above all the clutter that is out there; for that to happen, these stories must strike a chord with the end user, i.e., general public; media; community, government and business leadership; team members, customers, potential customers, etc.
From anniversary milestones in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Mississippi, and the announcement of a new visitor center at the Tupelo plant, to the launch of the all-new 2018 Camry – the first vehicle produced on TNGA in North America – or the announcement and unveiling of the first Lexus made in the U.S., Guthrie/Mayes works closely with Toyota to plan events, write executive remarks, draft news releases, coordinate/produce videos, and conduct media relations. We’re proud to partner with Toyota and excited that the Camry has been the best-selling car in America for the past 15 years running.
