Guthrie/Mayes is proud to be the public relations agency-of-record for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) continuously since 1987. We have supported all aspects of Toyota’s manufacturing in North America, starting with the opening of its first wholly owned plant in the U.S. in Georgetown, Ky. In addition, we have worked closely with Toyota Motor Sales, Toyota Technical Center and Toyota Financial Services.
A major part of any PR strategy for Toyota is “storytelling.” We dig deep to come up with the best stories that paint a picture of what the company is all about, both in the plant and out in the community. We want the Toyota story to be heard above all the clutter that is out there; for that to happen, these stories must strike a chord with the end user, i.e., general public; media; community, government and business leadership; team members, customers, potential customers, etc.
We are proud to partner with Toyota and excited by the fact that Camry has been the number-one selling car in the U.S. 16 of the past 17 years. And, when the 10-millionth vehicle rolled off the Georgetown line in 2014, Guthrie/Mayes was there to help tell the story. Also, we were heavily involved in the announcement of the Lexus ES 350 coming to Georgetown, as well as the first-car ceremony at the plant in October 2015.
